The Key Aspects of Testimony

Tonight, we continue on in Part 2 of our topic “The Key Aspects of Testimony”. Our key scripture is Luke 8:38-39 NIV.

The purpose of a testimony is to lead someone into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Our testimony honors God by helping others to trust in Jesus. Therefore, we need to allow our testimony to be an opportunity for someone to hear the message of the Gospel through our story.

Also, in tonight’s bible study, we will have a quick review of The Key Aspects of Testimony Part I (From Sept. 4).

  1. What a testimony means in Christianity
  2. The purpose of a testimony
  3. Ways to communicate our testimony
  4. AHOWFC general testimony outline

The Deadly Sin of Gossip

Tonight, we will continue with part 2 of our ongoing series “The Deadly Sin of Gossip.” Our anchor texts are from Proverbs 6:16-19, 2 Corinthians 12:20 and James 4:11. Today’s study will be focusing on How to eliminate Gossip!

The danger of gossip is that many people who engage in it don’t really think they are doing something seriously bad and hurtful. This is partly because they don’t really know what gossip is or the danger of it. In their mind, they are doing something that feels good to them (their flesh) and is harmless. Some may even think they are doing someone a favor. In order to stop gossip, we must learn to identify it.

Today, we will touch on several salient points such as

  • How to know you are engaging in gossip
  • Why do people gossip?
  • How can you eliminate gossip
  • How can we stop the act of gossip
  • etc.,

As we reflect on this lesson, our aim should be to examine instances in our lives where we may succumb to gossip and pray for God to help us root it out so we can be better reflections on Him on earth.

Study of the Lives of the 12 Disciples

Biblical vector illustration series of people climbed the hill towards the cross. Followers, hope, God mercy concept

Our bible study this evening is on The Lives of the 12 Disciples. Our anchor texts are Matthew 10:1-4 and Luke 6:12-16.

The calling of the 12 disciples shows how God uses ordinary people for extraordinary purposes. Our study of the lives of the disciples is intended to prompt us to examine and consider our own lives and how God might be calling us to serve him and complete our kingdom assignment in our own unique way.

The overall objective of this study is to understand the lives, roles, and impact of the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ, exploring their journey from ordinary individuals to foundational members of the early church.
